Be Curious, Have Fun, Develop that Brain!: Art, Play and Making with Young Children

Making with [really] young kids might look different than with other age groups, but the method and outcomes are the same-- let young kids follow where their curiosity leads and they learn things in the process! However, often kids in this age group are closely directed to create specific crafts rather than left to explore their own interests. Join the Early Learning Department at the Denver Public Library to have fun learning what process-based making with this age group looks like, how it supports early brain development and how to implement such a program.

Learning outcomes:
  1. Attendees will be able to plan process-based activities for children from 0-5 and their adults.
  2. Attendees will be able to discuss the developmental value of process-based activities with customers.
  3. Attendees will understand how process-based activities and programs support early brain development.
