Professional development is extremely important for librarians, and many excellent PD books help us solve challenges or inspire us with new ideas. Who writes those books? You and your colleagues do. Come to this program to learn from Jessica Gribble, senior acquisitions editor for Libraries Unlimited, about how to propose a book project and what happens next as you and a press move towards publication and beyond. Special guests Kathy Barco and Melanie Borski-Howard, authors of a recent book, will provide their point of view on the publishing relationship.
Learning Outcomes:- Attendees will know how to approach a publisher with an idea.
- Attendees will understand how the book publishing process works.
- Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about individual ideas and projects.
